According to ex-NFL star Brandon Marshall, Taylor Swift used her influence with the NFL to get Kanye kicked out of Allegiant Stadium when she caught wind of his manipulative plan to capitalize off her during Super Bowl LVIII.
Kanye makes headlines at the Super Bowl
Here’s what the former Jets, Broncos and Dolphins wide receiver said on the I Am Athlete Podcast, via video on the podcast’s Twitter/X account:
“He’s got a mask on with his logo on the mask, typical Kanye. Taylor Swift gets pissed off. She boom boom makes a call or two. Everybody’s involved. He gets kicked out the stadium,” Marshall claimed.
“He was trying to leverage her celebrity… He tried to sit in front of Taylor Swift.”
West also made headlines with a different marketing stunt during the Big Game. He bought a 30-second commercial spot to promote Yeezys, and recorded the whole ad on his phone.
The truth of Marshall’s story was called into question by many on social media who are familiar with the show.
“Take it with a grain of salt ya’ll. This coming from the same dude that was adamant NBA players didn’t have guaranteed contracts,” said one response on Twitter.
Kanye wanted some of Swift’s airtime
However, given the history between Kanye and Taylor and the reported $330 million that Swift is worth to the NFL, others were ready to join in on the conspiracy
“When you make the nfl 300 + million I’m sure they’ll bend to your will,” a user fired back at someone who expressed skepticism in the comments.
